AWARD- Cherry on Top

Thanks to my blog mentor Jill, I received this exciting award!!

The Cherry on Top Award for Beautiful Blogs, with that little something extra-

I am so new to blogging and quite frankly I don't know if anyone besides Mrs. Hopeful reads my blog, but its ok I got an AWARD.

I am going to pass this award on to some other special people....

but Apparently there are rules, so here goes

A 3 step process.....

1. If you had a chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be?
Tough question...
the one thing that I can think of now is that I would change the relationship that I have with my siblings. I am the oldest, the first one (the only one) to move away from home. Looking back, I was always the Older Sister and I do not have a lot of memories with them after about age 15. I did my own thing, had my own friends and really just don't remember a lot that involved my sisters and brother, and if I do remember it is something that they did that did not include me.
I left for college and here I think I tried to include them, but mostly again, I was 4 hours away and living my own life. They each only came to visit once or twice in 4 years.
A lot happened in my family in those years. My sister got pregnant at 16 and my brother started to get into some trouble. My youngest sister moved out of my moms house and to her dads.
As all of these things are not my fault, I look back and wonder if my lack of participation in their lives were a factor in these events. I realize these things would have happened whether I was there or not, but it is always in the back of my mind.
As I graduated college and started in the Real World, I was still living 2 hours away from home. I tried to visit, but again, I seemed to always choose friends and work over family.

Over the last 4 years as I started a relationship with my now husband, I realize how important family is and how I want him to be a part of mine. I have made more of an effort, but there are always those moments when they have stories that I am not a part of or they know more about each other then I know.

Our recent wedding really helped bring people together and open my eyes to starting a growing relationship with my siblings. As we all start different phases in our life, we need to be there for each other.
I try to be a role model and a positive influence. I know that I am not perfect and neither are they, but the most important thing is never looking back again saying, I wish I had been there.

2. The second thing you have to do is pick 6 people to receive this award. You then have to inform those people on their blog about the award. (I can truly only give 3... sorry, but I don't follow that many blogs yet that I feel deserve this and I can't give Jill her award again-since she gave it to me)

Pepper Paints - Reading this blog will open your mind to all kinds of things. The craft projects, the pictures, the recipes! There is always something that I want to try. Maybe I am partial because I know this family  but truly they do some great activities. The writer, Kristen was the first person to even tell me about blogging and get my interest started. It took me years to actually get started, but all those years I have followed this blog.

Happily After All - when I started researching ideas for my wedding I came across this blog. Not only was she doing everything herself, but we had the same wedding colors! It was this blog that got me really started on tracking my wedding planning process on my blog. I would get so excited to see her projects and then to see how the wedding turned out.... Award well deserved! Now she even has an etsy shop!

abkdesign - Amy at ABK is also new to blogging, like me. I have encouraged her to jump into the blogging world, not just for followers, but to have a way to journal your life before it passes you by! Amy is inspiring to me because she has many talents and an eye for style. Check her blog out to see why she deserves this award for finding the time to blog, make jewelry and stationary all while working and raising a husband and a busy 2 year old!

3. The third and final thing is, thank the person who gave you this award.

Thank you Mrs. Hopeful! You have been so encouraging through out my blogging process. I was clueless and you have taught me so many things! I am lucky to have you as a blog follower as well as a friend! You blog tells such an amazing story of your life and it is inspiring to see such honesty played out for people to read!

Thanks for considering my new and developing blog award worthy! Also, thanks for being the only person that really comments or reads my blog daily! I know there are others out there, they are just intimidated by my blog.... come out come out where ever you are :)

Thank you so much for sharing this award with me! It's always nice to hear that people could benefit from what I've done with my own wedding!

Eeee, I'm so glad you posted it and accepted it! You're an outstanding blogger and as you continue to write you will acquire more readers/commenters, besides me. :)

You've been a great student as well and I look forward to watching both of our blogs grow, ever time!

Happy Thursday!
